Want To Score Your Turkey ?
Calculate
your score by filling out the
form below using numbers with decimals. Included below is a decimal
equivalency chart to help you convert your measurements.
But first,
measure that birds live (undressed) weight
to the nearest ounce (Make sure it is a certified scale).
Then measure the birds beard to
the nearest 1/16 of an inch from the point of protrusion from
the breast to the tip of the longest bristle . Finally, measure
along the outside curve of each spur to the nearest 1/16 of an
inch.
Examples:
NOTE:
If a bird has multiple beards it is considered
a NON-TYPICAL. The Non-Typical birds score is calculated by using the sum of all
the beards' lengths and is referred to in the records as a NON-TYPICAL Turkey.
If the beard length is 11 3/16 then enter 11.1875 in the form.
If the weight was 20 lb. 7 oz. (which is 20 7/16 lb.) enter 20.4375
